Pre-Primary ‘Fun Day’ in March

Grandparents’ Day

What good fortune it is to grow up in a home where there are grandparents! A grandparent is a bit of a teacher and a bit of a best friend. They are a treasure of values, tradition, knowledge and strength to a family. Grandparents sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children and contribute to keeping the family closely knit.

To acknowledge our gratitude to their contribution, SJBHS felicitated the grandparents of the pre-primary Josephites with a special day dedicated to them. On this joyous occasion, few fun-filled competitions were conducted for the little boys which naturally had to be in tandem with their respective grandparents!

• Fancy dress- twinning with my grandchild/ramp walk.
• Dance- centre stage- Light camera action- a duet dance of the grandparents with the grandchild.
• Singing- super singers- solo singing for grandparent.

Grandparents enthusiastically participated and the grandchild cherished the precious moments of sharing the stage with their favourite grandparent. The pre-primary teachers put up a small programme through a video to make the grandparents feel special.

Our Principal Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ addressed the audience and expressed how important a role of a grandparent is in the lives of their children and grandchildren. Fr. Joel Fernandes, the Primary Administrator wished the grandparents on the occasion and prayed for their good health and happiness.

Special guests for the occasion, parents of Gundloor Mohammed Moiz of UKG C. Dr G Moinuddin consultant paediatric and advanced laparoscopic surgeon and Dr Fathima Farheen consultant obstetrics and gynaecology addressed the grandparents on the need for good nutrition, maintaining good health, precaution and care during the pandemic, personal hygiene, handling depression, gynaecological and hormonal matters.

A few of the young Josephites, on behalf of pre-primary section, expressed how much they love their grandparents and how much their grandparents pamper them with love, laughter, gifts, blessings and care. They wished and prayed to God to keep them safe and bless them with long life.

Mrs. Rosalin Jayshree, grandparent of Joshua Manohar of UKG B shared her thoughts and experiences and joy of being a grandparent with the audience. Mr. Uday Kumar, the Vice Principal of SJBHS thanked the grandparents for all the support they extend and all that they do for their families and indirectly for the Josephite family! The teachers of the pre-primary put up a peppy dance number to the good old retro tunes. Mrs Nalini Gupta extended the vote of thanks.

The programme may have come to an end but the SJBHS management firmly put on record the immense contribution, the never-failing devotion and the wonderful institution of the extended family in the Indian society!
