SJBHS Pre-Primary CHILGALA 2020 Celebrations

7 November – 21 November 2020

‘Children are the future. Nurture them right, so that they grow up to be able leaders and lead the world towards light.’ - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
We all surely agree that children are the best creation of God. They spread joy in every season. The month of November is a special season for St. Joseph’s boys! A season to celebrate children! The pre-primary Chilgala 2020 was nearly a month long celebration inclusive of a wide range of activities, workshops and competitions which commenced with a Children’s Day Assembly. The gamut of events laid stress on the fact that the management and staff of SJBHS wanted the students to know that they are really special and even in the days of the pandemic, there is no need to feel the pressure of not going to school – the school comes to them in their homes!

The Principal Rev. Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ addressed the gathering on the very first day of CHILGALA 2020 by reiterating the significance of Children’s Day and the history behind the celebrations. He reassured the young Josephites that they were always in his prayers and should do all they could to remain healthy, happy and positive.

The Primary School Administrator, Rev Fr Joel Fernandes SJ mentioned that all of us, parents and elders alike, need to learn to be like children - happy and smiling without any reason.

The teachers curated a special video for the kids which included special messages, dances and songs to entertain them.

A mesmerizing Magic Show performed by Mr. Nagendra Prasad, truly made the students happy. The workshops, too, were thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed by the students. The celebrations were complete with the exciting competitions which let the children and their parents put on their thinking caps and unleash their creativity. The month of November went by quickly. Nonetheless, it will be quite a while before the memories are over-shadowed by the next round of activities at SJBHS!
