The Mirage of Success and More
The Commerce Department of St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, Bangalore, proudly hosted the ninth edition of its commerce fest, Bifrost, a two day extravaganza of intellect, competition, and creativity. This year’s theme, “Mirage of Monopoly,” set the tone for the fest challenging participants to explore the illusions of power, control, and dominance in the world of commerce, while discovering how innovation and competition remain at the heart of progress.
Bifrost featured ten events, carefully curated to reflect the theme. Out of these, eight were senior events – Best Manager, Flagship, Marketing, Finance, Economics, HR-PR, along with the two exciting new additions, Law and Sports Management. For the younger participants, the fest offered two junior events – Crisis Management and Product Launch. Each event tested decision-making, creativity, and strategic thinking, while highlighting how monopolies can be both an opportunity and a deception, a “mirage” in the ever-changing business landscape.
The fest was inaugurated with a grand Opening Ceremony, graced by our distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Pasangha, a proud Josephite from the Batch of 1984. Mr. Pasangha, who currently serves as the Deputy CEO of IIFL Samasta, EVP and COO of Bharat Financial, and Vice Chairman of AKIM, delivered an inspiring address. He urged students to look beyond short-term illusions of success and instead build lasting value through integrity and vision a message that beautifully tied back to the theme of Mirage of Monopoly.
Over two dynamic days, the school campus pulsed with energy as participants debated, created, and competed with passion. The events reflected not only business acumen but also the Josephite spirit of teamwork and innovation. In the end, the coveted Best Delegation award was claimed by St. Joseph’s Pre-University College, whose consistent excellence made them deserving winners.
The resounding success of Bifrost IX was made possible through the constant support and guidance of our beloved Father Norwin Pereira, whose vision continues to inspire Josephites to scale greater heights.
As the curtains drew on Bifrost IX, what remained was more than just the joy of winning. It was a deeper understanding of how monopolies may appear powerful yet fleeting, reminding us that true progress lies in collaboration, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. Indeed, Bifrost IX: Mirage of Monopoly left behind lessons and memories that will inspire for years to come.
