CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS 2025

SJBHS Family’s Festive Season!
After the second unit assessment, the festivities for Christmas had truly begun at SJBHS. The students were dressed in the festive colours of red and green; the corridors were decked with holly, bells and baubles; the super-sized Christmas tree adorned the walkway; while the crib took on a life size form of its own.

On 18th December, the Pre-Primary and Primary sections had their special assembly with dances and carols, with fun and frolic, and with a live crib and Santa. The little ones had their share of good cheer, joy and Christmas happiness. The next day was a day of rejoicing with the rest of the Josephites. On the 19th of December, at the assembly, the prayer and the prayer song resonated with hope at the birth of baby Jesus while the carols recreated the feeling of peace, joy and cheer. The tableau, presented by the middle school students, brought to the audience the birth of Jesus, as narrated by the fourth king, and the meaning of this birth in today's context.

In his message, the Principal, Fr Norwin Pereira SJ, stressed on Christmas being a feast of light, of being sensitive and of being compassionate, kind while reaching out to be a blessing to others. Santa's appearance added to the excitement! There was cake for everyone and good wishes for a joyous season. As the students went home, the staff gathered for their share of fun and festivity. Carols were sung in English, Kannada and Hindi while the dances beautifully depicted the joy at the birth of the Saviour. In his message, the Rector, Fr. Daniel Fernandes SJ, said that Christ lives in our hearts. Problems arise, but we should trust in the providence of God.
The fellowship meal that followed was a time for camaraderie, bonding and enjoyment of the festive season, in unison, as the SJBHS family!
