To Ignite Hearts Through Learning and Faith
The feast of St. Ignatius was prayerfully marked with Eucharistic celebrations held on 28th July and 29th July 2025 for the different units, heralding the beginning of Ignatian Week. On both days, the chapel was beautifully decorated, creating a serene and uplifting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the themes of the celebration.
With the theme 'An inspiration to ignite hearts through learning and faith,' the Mass for students from Std 7 to Class 12 set a meaningful tone for Ignatian Week, inspiring the Josephite family to pursue knowledge with faith and ignite hearts with purpose. Drawing from the life of St. Ignatius, the main celebrant, Fr Vishal Pinto reminded us that our plans may differ from God’s, but His plans are always for our greater good.
With the theme 'An inspiration to dream big with God,' the Eucharistic celebration invited the students of the junior classes, to trust in God’s guidance as they imagine a bright and meaningful future. Fr Anthony Arul, the main celebrant for the mass, shared how, through faith and persistent prayer, he found direction during uncertain times in his own life — echoing the journey of St. Ignatius, who trusted God's plan over his own.
Throughout the week, a variety of competitions were held to celebrate the Ignatian spirit. These included a colouring competition for the tiny tots, a fancy dress competition for the KG students, and a mix of creative and intellectual events such as colouring and speaking activities, fancy dress, recitation of quotes and prayers of St. Ignatius, bookmark making, chart making, and an Ignatian-themed quiz. With vibrant enthusiasm, students showcased remarkable creativity and impressive memory skills across all the competitions held during the week.
Students of Std 11 conducted a special assembly that commenced with a solemn prayer. The life of St. Ignatius was movingly depicted through a thematic dance-drama, where expressive performances and graceful movements to the background singing of the class choir, left a lasting impact on the audience. The assembly served as a powerful reminder of the saint’s journey of faith and his dedication to serving God and others, and was warmly applauded by all.
The staff programme held on 30th July, commenced with a meaningful prayer service. The lighting of the lamp symbolised the presence of God, followed by heartfelt intercessory prayers offered by the staff members. The serene atmosphere transitioned into a lively mood as Fr. Paul Anand conducted engaging games that filled the hall with enthusiasm and togetherness. The day concluded with a sumptuous lunch, bringing everyone together in a spirit of fellowship and joy.
