Independence Day 2025

15th August, 2025

Celebrating 79 years and Counting!

On the morning of August 15th, our school campus echoed with patriotic fervor as students and staff gathered to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. In celebration, the school campus was transformed with vibrant decorations that reflected both patriotism and environmental consciousness.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the National Flag by our esteemed Chief Guest Air Marshal and Mrs. Cariappa, followed by the singing of the national anthem, filling every heart with pride and respect.

The event focused on commemorating not just freedom fighters, but also the silent strength behind them – their families.

Through emotional skits, speeches, and songs, participants showcased the untold stories of mothers who sent their sons to war, spouses who lived in uncertainty, and children who grew up without their parents – all in the name of freedom. A special tableau honored these families of freedom fighters, recognizing their continued legacy and strength.

The programme reminded everyone that the cost of independence was borne not only on battlefields, but also in homes, where families endured loss, separation, and immense hardship.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, students had a special programme dedicated to exploring the lesser-known facts about the Indian National Flag and the National Anthem. The event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the symbols that define our national identity and to pay tribute to the tricolour.

‘Mile Sur Mile Tumhara’ - The spirit of unity in diversity was beautifully captured through a multilingual patriotic song, performed by students in 15 Indian languages, showcasing the rich linguistic heritage of our nation.

This was followed by a vibrant multicultural dance performance, representing traditional dance forms from different regions of India such as Bharatanatyam, Bhangra, Garba, and Lavani. The stage came alive with colour, rhythm, and energy, reflecting the cultural mosaic that defines our country.

The programme included inspiring words from our Chief Guest Air Marshal Cariappa and our Principal, Fr. Norwin Pereira - reminding us of the sacrifices made for our freedom and encouraging us to be responsible citizens of a free and united India.
