JUNIOR ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET 2025

Josephites celebrate together

The 4th of September 2025 dawned with the threat of inclement weather, gloomy skies and weak sunshine but the smiles on the faces of the students, from the Pre-Primary to Class 4, could lift the spirits and abandon any thought of melancholy! After all, it was their Sports’ Day and for a Josephite, there could be no other day better than that!

The Sports Day commenced with the Chief Guest, Mr. Rohan Castelino Chief Inspector of Fire and safety ONGC, and Old Boy of the Batch of 2001, and the Guests of Honour Rector, Fr Daniel Fernandes SJ and Former Principal Fr Michael John SJ; being escorted to the grounds by the Principal Fr Norwin Pereira SJ, Vice Principal Mr. Brian McKertish and Primary Administrator Fr Paul Anand SJ, the members of the OBA and the PTA; as they were accompanied by the prestigious Josephite Guard of Honour.

The marchpast by the students of the four houses; Andrew’s, David’s, George’s and Patrick’s; was a wondrous achievement. The displays that followed put together colour, calisthenics and calibre. The students of the different classes decorated the playground with their colourful props from foam noodles and hockey sticks to wrist bands and umbrellas. SJBHS truly shone brightly through the positivity, the camaraderie and the sportsmanship of the juniors!

Rector, Fr Daniel advised the students to play fair as true success was never built on dishonesty. Father told the boys to encourage one another as it has been the tradition that if one wins, Josephites celebrate together.

Fr Norwin advised the boys to run with joy, play with passion and enjoy every moment as these were memories that last forever!
The Chief Guest told the boys that Sports was not about medals and trophies but about focus, humility, resilience and most of all the courage to rise up when you fall. It is also about building character, confidence and the ability to carry forward the Josephite spirit of excellence and sportsmanship.
