The Parent Teacher Association Annual General Body Meeting was held on the 20th June, 2025. The auditorium was packed to capacity with parents and teachers. As is clear, no school is an island. A school, its Management and Teachers work in tandem with Parents, and the PTA is the fulcrum of that relationship.

The programme that began with an invocation dance by a PTA member set the stage for a serene meeting. The teachers’ rendition of a prayer song added to the serenity. A video presentation showcased the Outreach initiative of the PTA. The Annual Report, read by the PTA Vice President, Mr Aravind Gowda, and the financial statement for the year 2024-25 were passed by Mr Rajesh and seconded by Mr Vinod.

The guest speakers for the evening were Mr Kiran Kumar, former PTA Vice President and a well wisher of the school; and Ms Gowri Mirlay Achanta, HoD of the History department of SJBHS. Both the speakers are parents of former Josephites and are well versed with the functioning of the institution.

Mr Kiran Kumar highlighted the need for parents to be actively involved in the day to day working of the school and said that it was imperative that they play an active role whenever called upon to lend a helping hand.

Ms Achanta, in her speech, advised the parents about spending time with their children, limiting gadget use and building emotional bonds that would last a lifetime. A number of school activities were highlighted, a number of the problems of the teachers were emphasized, and a number of attributes of a growing child were stressed to re-iterate that we are moving in a fast-paced world, where education is moving in patterns that are novel and innovative.

The Principal, Fr Norwin Pereira SJ, in his message welcomed the parents to collaborate with the school. Father answered all the queries posted to him and assured the parents of safety and security of their wards, especially the parents who had recently admitted their children to SJBHS.

The solemn and meaningful meeting was brought to a close shortly after with snacks, assurances of a great year ahead and wonderful times at the institution.
