TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS 2025

A Day for Our Chers and Sirs

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

Teachers' Day is a commemoration of the work and ideals of Dr S Radhakrishnan, both as an educator and an educational reformer. He believed that teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of a nation. On his birthday, India celebrates its teachers! Teachers’ Day at SJBHS encapsulates a plethora of events that is kept a secret from the teachers; as practice sessions for the same are done under cover. The students are overwhelmed at this time of the year with examinations, yet they find time, to make the day special for their mentors. With lively dance performances, skits that showcased their teacher/ classroom experiences, and speeches that were emotionally proficient; the students managed to weave every anecdote of their life at school into a tapestry of memories that they would cherish forever. They curated popular songs with lyrics to suit the occasion and choreographed dance moves to grace the dais; they rapped out lines to give their skits the innovative edge; while the poems echoed enchantment and gratitude all rolled into one. However, the underlying aim was to make their teachers happy, relaxed and entertained. The students succeeded as the teachers applauded their genuine efforts.

The Parent-Teachers Association are the stakeholders of the school and host the celebrations on Teachers’ Day. Due to the Sports Meet and government holidays, Teachers’ Day was celebrated on the 12th of September and the PTA spared no effort and scaled down on nothing to put together a grand show that was named ‘Tharangotsav’. The auditorium wore festive colours of pink and yellow; the theme of cultural diversity echoed in the attire of the hosts as well as the grandeur of the decoration. The members of the PTA core committee danced, sang, and arranged games for the teachers. The bonding was further cemented as the teachers and the parent representatives shared a common festive meal.

The day was a reminder to every teacher that they were loved and cherished; and to every student that they owe a great deal to their mentors for shaping their personalities, their futures as well as their presence in society itself!
