Youngest Josephites go Retro!
The Annual Day celebration of the UKG section of St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School on the theme ‘Retro to Metro’ was held on 6th December 2025 in the St Xavier Auditorium with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event brought together students, parents, teachers, and well-wishers to celebrate the talents and accomplishments of our young Josephites.
The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Mr. Shivaprakash Honnashettar, Former Sports Secretary, SJBHS whose presence added honour and warmth to the celebration.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge, wisdom, and the dispelling of darkness. This was followed by a meaning prayer and a graceful invocation dance performed by our little Josephites, invoking divine blessings for the success of the event.
The formal ceremony continued with the Welcome Address by the Primary administrator Fr Paul Anand SJ, extending heartfelt greetings to the dignitaries and the audience, followed by the Introduction of the Chief Guest. Mr. Shivaprakash then delivered an inspiring Address, encouraging students to nurture curiosity, discipline, and values from a young age and requested parents to be a guiding force rather than trying to form the child according to one's own expectations.
The Principal, Fr. Norwin Pereira SJ shared a thoughtful message, appreciated the hard work of students, teachers, admin and support staff, and highlighted the importance of holistic education in early childhood, stressing on the motto of the school “Faith and Toil”, and thanked the chief guest for inspiring students and the gathering.
The highlight of the evening was a series of delightful cultural programmes presented by the UKG students. Their energetic performances, charming expressions, and confident stage presence captivated the audience and filled the auditorium with joy and applause.
Towards the end of the celebration, essential values and learnings were emphasised, reinforcing the school’s commitment to character formation and moral development.
The event concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks by the students and the pre-primary coordinator, expressing gratitude to all who have contributed to the success of the celebration, followed by the National Anthem, sung with pride and respect.
The Annual Day of the UKG section was a memorable occasion, showcasing the creativity, enthusiasm, and innocence of our young learners while reflecting the collective efforts of the St. Joseph’s family.
